Often when we are working our pop-ups people ask: “Do you have a bricks and mortar store?” And we say, “Nah, just popups” until now—sorta.
Beginning today, Destination Books has a small book kiosk at the Journeyman store just off the square in downtown Decatur. Journeyman offers a full suite of analog and electric bicycle services including building, customization, repair, and DIY assistance for two wheelers. They also host local makers and fixers through retail, coffee, working, event, and classroom space. Retail offerings include bike accessories, helmets, clothing and now—new books.
At Destination Books our customers have come to expect books on gardening and sustainability, but sustainability also includes transportation alternatives such as bicycles. We’ve now added such titles as Two Wheels Good: A History and Mystery of the Bicycle, Just Ride: A Radically Practical Guide to Riding Your Bike, and Bicycle Diaries by David Byrne of Talking Heads renown.
These books share the shelf space with some of our standards such as Plants Are My Favorite People and Ministry for the Future.
